The Solihull Medical Cosmetic Clinic under the supervision of Dr Sagoo, a Solihull GP and cosmetic dermatologist, is the only clinic in Solihull offering the full range of acne treatments available for mild, moderate, severe acne and acne scarring.

Acne is a multifunctional skin condition, which can affect an individual's daily life. Treatment does not require antibiotics, but combination treatments that unblock the skin pores, target the acne bacteria, treat inflammatory lesions and hyperpigmentation and improve the general appearance of the skin. Most of these treatments are not available under the NHS.

All patients referred to the clinic will be seen by Dr Sagoo and their acne assessed. At the initial consultation all new patients will have the following:
1. Consultation with Dr Sagoo.
2. Acne severity questionnaire assessment.
3. Full medical history and acne explained in detail.
4. Photographs taken
5. Types of treatment offered by the clinic and an "Acne Care Programme" tailored to the patient including:
(i) Full range of medical doctor prescribed skin care products to use at home on a daily basis.
(ii) Course of superficial two-weekly superficial/medium depth chemical peels only doctor prescribed.
(iii) Prescription for topical/oral acne drugs.
(iv) Laser photorejuvenation - for facial redness.
(v) Diode light therapy course - for inflammatory redness.
(vi) Powerful Nd:YAG laser treatment for acne papules.
(vii) Medical microdermabrasion course - for resurfacing and acne scarring.
(viii) Roaccutane - for severe acne - Dr Sagoo works closely with a consultant dermatologist if this is to be initiated.
6. Semi ablative laser skin resurfacing - down time 3-4 days for atrophic acne scarring.
